There were lots of these grasshoppers at the house we rented. I could only identify it to the genus level (Melanoplus).

This Mule Deer and i stared at each other for a few moments one morning right outside the house. Fortunately, I had my camera with me and was able to get a photo before it disappeared into the brush.

There were cattle along the road leading to the house. I liked getting a photo of the calf feeding. Also, note the horns on the cow. One points up and the other points straight ahead.
