July 31, 2022 - Trail Camera Photos
Read MoreI have a trail camera set up in the yard of our lake home in northern Minnesota. Here are some photos that I captured in the first half of 2022.
I use the trail camera to monitor activity around our bird feeders. In the middle of April, Dark-eyed Juncos were migrating to their nesting areas and this flock of about 50 of them stopped in our yard to feed.JuncoDarkeyedaprox50tfrontyardbirdfeedersDunningLakeItascaCounty20220416
We were really surprised to see this Wild Turkey show up. I know they have extended their range further and further north, but our wooded area just didn’t seem like good habitat for Turkeys. Between May 6 and June 7, this Turkey was regularly photographed by the trail cam.

From April 23 to June 26, we had several sightings of a Black Bear. Most of the time it would come around at night, but a couple of times it showed up during the day. I didn’t get to actually see the bear, but I’m an early riser and this shot was taken only about a half hour before I got up. (Update: I saw the bear just yesterday at 1:00 in the afternoon!)
