Jan. 16, 2022 - Sanibel non-bird photos
Read MoreMost of the photos I take are of birds. But I do aim my lens at other things once in a while. Here are a few of them taken on our December trip to Sanibel Island, Florida.
Florida has two kinds of Anole. One is the native Green Anole, which can change its color to brown. Then there is the non-native Cuban or Brown Anole which cannot change its color. I think this in the non-native species. Only males have a well-developed dewlap, which this Anole is displaying. This action can be a breeding behavior but is more likely to be a territorial display.
