Oct. 4, 2020 - More Fall Colors

Two weeks ago, I showed you some fall color photos from the North Shore. Here are some spectacular scenes from our lake home in northern Minnesota. The red, orange, and yellow leaves were especially beautiful this year.

This is a closer look at the same shoreline as in the previous photo. The morning I took this picture, there was no wind, so I got a perfect reflection in the lake. This is a photo that could be rotated 180 degrees and still look like it was correct.

We took a boat ride around the lake and found these Painted Turtles sunning themselves on a submerged log. The colorful leaves along the shore were reflected in the ripples on the water.

We took a fall color drive around Itasca County. This is one of the views along County Road 49.

Most of the flowers in our wildflower garden are faded by now, but the garden is sprinkled with blue from the fall blooming asters.

Another group of flowers that blooms late in the year are the Goldenrods. There are many varieties but this one is Zigzag Goldenrod.
