We visited Bald Point State Park while we were in Florida. This Snowy Egret was feeding right beside the dock that extends out into the bay.
The Egret went after something in the water.
But it missed and came up with only a few weeds.
It continued scanning the shallow water.
Then it crouched down and stretched its neck out into attack mode.
And this time it was successful!
Here’s a close-up view. I can’t identify the prey but if you know what it is, please leave a message below or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
