Feb. 3, 2019 - St. George Island, Florida
Read MoreHere are some photos taken on St. George Island, Florida, where Diana and I are again staying during January and February. You know how large a Great Blue Heron is, so just imagine the size of these rocks. Rocks like these line both sides of Bob Sikes Cut, the channel between St George Island and Little St. George Island. This channel was dredged out in 1954 to provide easy access from Apalachicola to the Gulf of Mexico.
Northern Mockingbirds are very common residents here on the island. They have been quiet so far, but we will soon be enjoying their extensive repertoire of songs. This photo was taken near Sikes Cut.
