August 19, 2018 - Monarch Butterfly - 2
Read MoreThis is my first attempt at time lapse photography, so it isn’t a work of art. But it is interesting, showing how the butterfly pumps liquid from its body into the wings, extending them to their full length. I set my camera to take one frame per second for 15 minutes. Click on the small white camera logo in the lower left corner. Then click on the arrow to start the video.
The Monarch opened it’s wings a few times and I was able to get a photo of the beautiful pattern of the upper side of the wings. I’m really pleased to get a photo of a just-emerged butterfly because it is still in perfect shape and the colors are so vivid.
