Read MoreOne of the famous landmarks on this trip was Palisade Head. Its rocky cliffs were formed by a lava flow over one billion years ago. The highest point of Palisade Head is over 300 feet above the water. Peregrine Falcons nest on the Palisade Head cliffs. It’s also a favorite destination for rock climbers and we did see a couple of them during this trip.
