Mar. 8, 2015 - Tallahassee Museum – Other Photos

The Tallahassee Museum was established in 1957. A few years later, it moved to its present site on a chain of lakes. There is a boardwalk that goes through a swamp and lets you experience the outdoors without getting your feet wet.

An Eastern Screech-Owl was one of the featured birds at the museum. This owl is about 8½ inches tall and comes in two color variations: a red morph, shown in this photo, and a gray morph.

The museum has a Guest Animal Habitat area where they feature exotic animals from other parts of the world. The exhibit changes twice each year and this time they had animals from the tropical forests.
This is a Blue and Yellow Macaw, native to South America.
