Aug. 23, 2015 - Yellow Warblers
Read MoreDuring our trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island in June, I saw Yellow Warblers almost everywhere we visited. That’s not surprising because Yellow Warblers have a more extensive nesting range than any of our other warblers. They are found all over Canada and Alaska, in most of the lower 48 states, and even into Mexico. This photo was taken at Mowry Beach in Lubec, Maine.
Yellow Warblers choose many different habitats for their nesting territory. They can be found in brushy areas, forests, stream sides, and even in drier areas. Because they are so versatile, they are less affected by habitat loss. This photo was also taken at Prince Edward Island National Park.

Here’s another Yellow Warbler from Prince Edward Island National Park. All of these photos show birds with dark reddish streaking on the breast, indicating they are males. Females look very similar but have little or no streaking on the breast.
