I found this Blue Dasher dragonfly along Alder Road in Itasca County, MN. It was in a stream right below a bridge I was crossing. The powdery blue abdomen indicates that this is an adult. They breed in lakes, ponds, and slow streams, but not usually in bogs. It’s somewhat unusual for dragonflies to hold their wings forward like this one is doing. Most of them hold their wings straight out to the side.
