I just returned from a three week trip to Texas where I took photos at two ranches, several state parks, and some National Wildlife Refuges. I’ll have many more photos to share in the coming weeks but here are a couple of my favorites from the trip.
In the United States, Green Jays are only found in the southern tip of Texas. It was a target species for this trip because I didn’t have any Green Jay photos, and because it is a favorite bird of my wife Diana. This photo was taken at Laguna Seca Ranch near Edinburg, TX. I like this pose because the bird has its head feathers raised. I’ve seldom seen that in other photos of Green Jays.
