Sept. 20, 2009 - Mushrooms
Read MoreThis has been a banner year for mushrooms at our home in northern Minnesota. I have been trying, without success, to find someone who can help me identify some of these interesting mushrooms. I’ve decide to do a Picture of the Week segment on them and see if anyone knows what they are. I have named some of them based on the book “Fascinating Fungi of the North Woods”. If my identification is not correct, please send me an e-mail (earlorf@uslink.net) with the correct ID.
This interesting group of mushrooms caught my eye as I walked along our driveway. For now, I am calling it Mushroom A. It appears to be at the end of its cycle. I say that because many mushrooms, as they age, curl up at the edges and start to split. This was another visually striking group of mushrooms. I think these are Red-gilled Corts. I also have many more mushroom photos in a separate gallery. Here is a link to that gallery. If you can identify any of them, I would be grateful if you would let me know. http://www.earlorfphotos.com/Other-Nature-Galleries/Mushrooms/9395030_PYv4C#629273035_FDdBL
