Nov. 29, 2009 - Red Junglefowl
Read MoreBaby animals and birds are always cute and this Red Junglefowl chick is no exception. Koke’e State Park on Kauai, where this photo was taken, is home to a wild population of Junglefowl. They are used to being around humans, however, and gather near the Visitor Center for handouts. Red Junglefowl found in other places on the islands are free ranging but not truly wild. They were first brought to the islands by ancient Polynesian settlers.
