February 15, 2009 - Georgia Birds and an Unusual Photo of a Brown Pelican
Read MoreA couple of weeks ago I mentioned a good spot for taking photos of Brown Pelicans. I have been back there several times and was able to get this photo of a Pelican stretching its head toward the sky. I have heard about them doing this but it is the first time I have actually seen and photographed it. (The photo on the left is one I used before; it’s included here for comparison purposes.)
Recently we took a trip to Jekyll Island, GA, to visit our friends Judy and LaVerle. While there, I spent some time watching birds at a feeder site on the island. It’s a good place to see and photograph Cardinals, Chickadees, and other feeder birds. I really enjoy the Cardinals, and this male sitting in a palm tree is one of my favorites.
